Onwusanya attributes growing population in Delta to peace, infrastructure

ASABA— Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Mr. Peter Onwusanya, has said the growing population of Delta State, especially Asaba, the state capital, underscores the huge investment by the state government in infrastructural development, making the state very attractive to other Nigerians.

The speaker, who spoke on the 23rd anniversary of the state’s creation, also averred that the development witnessed by the state in the past seven years was as a result of the peace and security agenda of Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan.

He noted that the recent Permanent Voters’ Cards, PVCs, and registration exercise where no fewer than about 200,000 eligible voters were registered in Asaba, exposed the growing population of residents of the state capital, stressing that it was as if the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, conducted a fresh registration.

Onwusanya who represents Oshimili South Constituency in Delta State House of Assembly, said several families relocated to Asaba in recent time due to peace and available infrastructures in the state.
