LAGOS—The Board and Management of Industrial and General Insurance Plc, IGI, has assured all stakeholders that the company will preserve the IGI legacy and vigorously pursue the dream and vision of its founder, late Dr Oluremi Andrew Olowude.
In a statement issued yesterday announcing the passing away of its Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, IGI described late Olowude as “a visionary entrepreneur with remarkable patriotic zeal, who was a self-driven achiever and business leader, and built a virile conglomerate with interests in insurance, banking, health management services, construction, and telecommunications services”.
According to the statement, “he was a frontline member of Corporate Nigeria and the immediate past Chairman of the Nigerian Insurers Association, NIA. IGI Plc, which he founded in 1992, is a leading insurance company in Nigeria underwriting all classes of insurance business.
