By Boluwaji Obahopo

LOKOJA—Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, Kabba-Bunu branch has appealed to  Governor Idris Wada of Kogi State to prevail on the council chairman,  Emmanuel Funsho, to pay their  10 months salary

The union in a peaceful protest to draw the attention of the  governor, who was in the council for a “thank you” visit, claimed they were receiving between 20 and 40 per cent of their monthly salary.

Chairman of the Union,  Durojaiye Daniel, alleged that the local government staff had been surcharged for too long by the council chairman.
According to him, “the staff of Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area were owed 10  months salary, leave bonus since 2012 and promotion arrears. Each time the union meets the chairman, he is fond of deceiving us with sugar coated mouth while for the past one year it has been 20, 30, 40 percent salary payment.”
