Prince Vincent Ogbulafor
Abuja—Justice Ishaq Bello of the FCT High Court, yesterday, adjourned judgment in a case filed against Prince Vincent Ogbulafor, former National Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, till September 24.
Bello adjourned judgment after counsel to the second accused, Miss Eghwere Osagie, informed the court that her client was unable to appear in court due to ill health.
He said: “My Lord, it will not be in the interest of justice to deliver judgment in the absence of the accused person in the court room.
“The law clearly stipulates that the accused person must be present from the beginning to the end of trial.”
However, the prosecution counsel, Olayemi Akomade, insisted that judgment be delivered since counsel to the second accused was present in court.
In a short ruling, Justice Bello held that in order to ensure justice and fair play to all parties, judgment was reserved till September 24.
