The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) has solicited the assistance of the National Sports Commission (NSC) in developing its sport activities.
Mr Bisi Kazeem, Corp Commander of the FRSC and head of the commission’s sports section, made the appeal when he paid a courtesy call on the NSC’s Director-General, Mr Gbenga Elegbeleye.
“We are deeply involved in sports and we are here to seek your collaboration in areas that you can be of assistance to us in developing sporting activities in the FRSC.
“We have a football team, the Safety strikers in the Pro-League; we equally have table tennis, lawn tennis, badminton and other sporting activities.
“And these teams including our athletes do represent Nigeria in various competitions”, Kazeem said.
Responding, Elegbeleye, noted that many sports men and women from the military and para-military organisations had represented the country in various international sporting competitions.
He commended the FRSC for contributing to sports development in the country and promised to assist the agency in developing its sporting activities.
