Former members of the state executive of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Delta State, have commended former minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Elder Godsday Orubebe for his life of service to the state and the nation.

Chairman of the group, Chief Emmanuel Ogidi, who made the commendation on behalf of the former executive when Orubebe visited them, said they believed in the former minister’s competence as attested to by the manner he discharged previous assignments he had been saddled with.

He commended the quality of his team and the developed approach of his campaign. He decried the idea of introducing strange elements into Delta politics, noting that such development seeks to discard genuine political participation which he believed was counter productive.

He reminded those joining the party at the eleventh hour solely for the purpose of contesting the elections that there was hierarchy in party structure. He prayed God to  crown Orubebe’s effort with glowing success.

At the meeting, Orubebe underscored the need to ensure that only a competent person becomes the next governor of the state as there were serious challenges to be tackled by the next administration inthe state.

These challenges he said include the implementation of goals that will transform Delta State cities from their current level to general standards obtainable in Europe and putting on ground the required infrastructure that will take Delta State beyond oil.
