EKU—AHEAD of the 2015 general elections, some Democratic Peoples Party, DPP; All Progressives Congress, APC and the Labour Party, LP members in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, have defected to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the state.
The returnees, while promising to put in their best to reposition the party ahead of future elections, said their leaving the PDP was a mistake hence they decided to return to ‘home.’
Receiving them on behalf of the PDP at Eku, a PDP leader in the area, Chief Bernard Edewor said the return of the members had further strengthened the party in the area.
On the fallout of the PDP council primaries, Chief Edewor appealed to aggrieved members to remain calm, promising that all aspirants in the primaries would be compensated as the process for the compensation was already ongoing.
In their individual remarks, the Senior Special Adviser to the state governor, Chief Ighoyota Amori and the Ethiope East PDP Chairman, Chief Kings Okpako, assured that the PDP will win all the seats in the forthcoming council elections and charged party members to work as a team.
