ABEOKUTA—A faction loyal to former governor of Ogun   State   in the Labour Party, yesterday, tackled the other faction in the party, saying, it would go ahead with the planned merger with the  People’s Democratic Party in the state.

Daniel’s faction in a statement by its Secretary,   Deji  Kalejaiye   described the factional secretary,  Sunday Oginni as an interloper.

Oginni had said that,  Daniel lacked the power to merge the Labour Party with the PDP, saying, the former governor was never a member of National Working Committee or  National Executive Council of the party have such power.

Reacting to Oginni’s statement, he said that  it is “crystal clear that; “The fact remains that our leader, the former governor has the mandate and support of the entire leadership of the Party as well as the state executive committee of the Party to discuss and liaise with individuals, groups and political Parties with the   common objectives.

“It, therefore, point to the fact that the author of the statement has a  clandestine objective.      It is also highly imperative to set the record straight once again that Sunday Oginni is just an interloper and impostor.”
