ABEOKUTA—A faction of Labour Party in Ogun State has said the former governor of the state, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, lacked power to merge the party with the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state.

Factional Secretary of the party in the state, Sunday  Oginni, stated this yesterday while reacting to the report that Daniel was planning to merge Labour Party with the PDP.

Daniel, who is said to be planning to defect to the PDP anytime from now, was said to have told his loyalists in Labour Party that he would merge the party with the PDP ahead of the 2015 elections.
