ABEOKUTA—As the airlifting of Pilgrims commences across the country to perform this year hajj in Saudi Arabia, the Chief Imam of Sango Central Mosque, Ogun State, Alhaji Tajudeen Babalola Shafy, has urged pilgrims in the state to be of good ambassadors of the state and Nigeria.

Shafy spoke to Muslims, during the Jumat Service at Sango Central Mosque also tasked them to obey and be of good behaviour during their stay in the Holy land, noting that the rules and regulation laid down by the Saudi Arabian authorities must be strictly obeyed.

He equally charged them to follow the tenets of Islam when performing their prayers, contending that Nigerians were watching them.
While urging them to pray against the vices militating against Nigeria, he noted, “You must pray for the unity and survival of democratic process in the country.”

In the same vein, the women’s leader and Muslim scholar, Alhaja Ganiyat Shafy, praised the Ogun State government on arrangement to make this year Hajj successful like previous years. She also called for the support of Ogun people for the state government in order to benefit more from the dividends of democracy.
