UGHELLI—FORMER Minister of State for Education, Chief Kenneth Gbagi, has appealed to Chief Edwin Clark to support his Delta State gubernatorial ambition in the 2015 general elections.
Gbagi who spoke when he paid consultative visit to Chief Clark in his Kiagbodo country home, said he believed in the capacity of Clark, “to be among those that will determine who the next governor of the state should be.”
Recalling that he was appointed a minister through the assistance and recommendation of Clark, he begged him (Clark) to repeat the same gesture in his aspiration to become the next governor of Delta State.
In his remarks, Chief Clark said he had not endorsed any candidate for the governorship position of the state, warning those who use his name to campaign to desist henceforth.
Saying that there will be a level playing ground for all aspirants where the best candidate would be selected for the job, Clark noted that he was not a dictator and could not therefore, impose or support any form of imposition of candidate on the people.
He said no single man can “make anyone a governor but only who God has ordained to become the governor of the state. You can have all the support of those you think have the say but when you are not selected by God, you will fail.
“And when God chose you no matter how many oppositions or those fighting and contesting against you, they will all fail because God will set confusion in their midst to scatter them or cause them to withdraw for you.”
