2015: Jonathan qualified to seek second term, says PDP stakeholder

ABAKALIKI  — A chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ebonyi State, Dr. Paul Okorie, has thrown his weight behind the second term bid of President Goodluck Jonathan.
According to him, the President is qualified to seek a second term in office come 2015 general elections.

Okorie, who was the former Commissioner for Environment in the state, stated this in an interview with newsmen in Abakaliki.
He dismissed the allegation from the Northern leaders that they had agreement with President Jonathan in 2011 to serve only a single term and hand over to a Northerner, stressing that the constitution superseded every other arrangement with individuals or group.

He maintained that even if the state made a law that was at variance with the constitution, such law could be termed inconsistent and void.
Okorie commended the bold step of Governor Martin Elechi for advocating the governor- ship position to shift to the southern part of the state which had yet to hold the position since the creation of the state.
