UGHELLI—A socio-political group, Concerned Urhobo Youths, CUY, has endorsed Mr. Solomon Ahwinahwi’s aspiration to represent Ughelli /Udu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

A  communiqué by Messrs  Solomon Oghenerume and Steven Obioru, president and secretary of CUY, said  Ahwinahwi’s choice was informed by the  quality and effective representation he had earlier displayed in the House.

The statement reads: “His tenure in the National Assembly was very eventful and rewarding when he championed the making of Goodluck  Jonathan as acting President following the death of President Yar’Adua. We are proud of him.

“While in office he  helped to advance the nation’s nascent democracy which include, championing the making of Jonathan acting President following the death of the late President Umaru Yar’Adua with the support of a group in the House of Representatives known as the Progressives.

“We are also aware of the empowerment of indigent youths by award of scholarships, skill acquisition and disbursement of funds to enable them start up their businesses.”
