Akala

IBADAN— EIGHTEEN loyalists of the former Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala of Oyo State, yesterday, escaped death by the whiskers when the bus they were travelling with was involved in an auto crash.
The supporters of the former governor were going to the venue of a rally where Alao-Akala declared his intention to govern the state for the second time when the accident happened.
Though there was no reported fatality, Vanguard gathered that some of them were seriously injured.
The people were said to be part of thousands of people who were mobilised to participate in the formal declaration at an event centre on Old Ife Road, Ibadan.
According to an eye witness, the 18-seater bus crashed at Amuda Ojere area on Ojoo-Iwo road of the city.
The bus was said to be seriously damaged.
