Akure—ONDO State government yesterday flagged off the construction of the Akure Shopping Mall and car park expected to cost N1.651 billion.
Governor Olusegun Mimiko said at the ceremony in Akure that the project was in partnership with Top Services Nigeria Limited.
The governor said the shopping mall would ensure steady supply of genuine and affordable goods and services, and would also make Akure a commercial hub.
Dr Mimiko added that “This is expected to strengthen the state’s economy, its productive base and also expand the frontiers of trade. Having this shopping mall here will make it easier for retail businesses in our state to thrive, expand and discourage adulteration as well as excessive spending on transportation and storage.
