IBADAN—MEDICAL consultants in the country have warned the Federal Government that the sack of about 16,000 resident doctors will have dire consequences on the health sector in the country.
The medical consultants gave the warning after an emergency meeting held under the auspices of the Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria.
In a statement by its General Secretary, Dr. Adeoye Moshood, the consultants said, “It is disheartening that this action of the Federal Government will destroy the already fragile health system.
”We totally condemn the suspension of the residency training by the Federal Government”.
