By Jimitota Onoyume

PORT HARCOURT— FORMER President, Students Union Government, University of Port Harcourt, Mr. Constantine Itiako, has emerged Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chairmanship candidate for the council elections in Isoko South Local Government Area, Delta State.

Itiako was President of the SUG of the university in 1997.

One of his fellow alumni, Fred Uzo, who spoke on the development, said “Malik ran one of the most coordinated campaign in that our SUG election.

I recall that he was the first Deltan and second non-indigene after Ejike Asiegbu to be elected Students Union President of the university. It was not easy because despite ethnic sentiments exhibited by some, he won with a landslide.”

Mr. Charles Okon, a former student of the university and now a banker, said he admired the leadership style Malik provided as president of the union.

He said: “He was focused. I learnt a lot from his composure. I am certain he will serve his people very well.”
