DELTA 2015: PDP urged to support Ijaw

BURUTU—Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, hierarchy and stakeholders have been enjoined to consider the Ijaw ethnic group in Delta State for the next governorship slot in the state.

A youth leader from the Burutu Local Government Area of the party, Mr. Frank Akiefa, who made the appeal in Burutu, insisted that the other ethnic groups in the state have either produced governor, deputy governor or Secretary to the State Governor with the exception of Ijaw.

Akiefa lamented that the Ijaw of Delta State were the most underdeveloped in the state due to their absence in vital positions in government, stressing that the only compensation the Ijaw will accept is to be allowed to produce the governor to succeed Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan.
