ABEOKUTA — The  Ogun  State Police Command said yesterday that  it arrested three students of ICT Polytechnic, Igbesa in Ado-Odo-Ota Local Government Area of the state for allegedly threatening   their colleague  who refused  to join their cult group.

The Police Public Relations Officer  in the state, Muyiwa  Adejobi  who stated this explained that, Adigun David,18, Okwuma Obiora,17 and Kenneth Mokwunye, 24, were members of a cult group identified as Vikings Confraternity.

According to Adejobi, the suspects have been threatening to kill their colleague for refusing to join their cult group. Based on this threat, the student eventually raised the alarm for his safety.”
Adejobi  said the  state Commissioner of Police, Mr.  Ikemefuna Okoye commended the victim for exposing the threats of the suspected cultists.

“He lauded his courage and advised other students who experience such to reveal their ordeals in the hands of these devilish cultists to security operatives in order to save their lives and those of others,”the PPRO  said.

Adejobi  further disclosed that  police detectives attached to Ota and Ogijo Divisions of the command have arrested  some suspected armed robbers with arms at different locations in the state.

He   said  the  detectives, who were on  a routine night patrol along Lagos-Abeokuta expressway accosted some young men who they suspected at a petrol filling station.

Adejobi said  when interrogated,  the  young men opened fire on the police vehicle and fled.
