Akure—THE eight journalists suspended indefinitely over the crisis rocking the Ondo State government owned Radio Vision Corporation, OSRC, have been recalled on the orders of Governor Olusegun Mimiko.
Affected journalists from the News department are the current chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, OSRC Chapel, Wahab Bankole, his predecessor, Taiwo Ibitoye, Sola Obagbemisoye, Akinwumi Abodunde, Obafemi Sogbe and Lanrewaju Bankole Kole.
Others are Bayo Olanusi of the programmes department and Tunji Ogidan of engineering department, who is the incumbent RATTAWU chairman in the corporation.
Their recall, according to the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, state chairman, Bosede Daramola, was without any condition attached.
Daramola led other leaders of Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, TUC and Joint Negotiation Council JNC leaders to meet with the governor to appeal on behalf of the journalists.
At the end of the meeting, the workers were asked to return to the corporation.
The NLC had written an apology letter to the state government and the management of the Corporation on behalf of the suspended journalists.
There are insinuations however that the journalists may be re-deployed out of the corporation to serve as deterrent to others.
