We should all eschew violence and resist any attempt to take laws into our hands. In conclusion, I’m seizing this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation to all ,most importantly the Muslim faithful who defied all odds to demonstrate their uncommon love, solidarity and support. The impact of your prayers are tremendous. It is my prayer that our collective aspirations shall come to reality very soon. I wish you happy and peaceful eid-el fitri celebration”

In his message, Governor Aregbesola congratulated Muslims for the successful month-long fasting and “devotion to the will of Allah which ended Sunday.

He said “the period which has elevated the spiritual consciousness of Muslims will lead them to take the right decisions on matters which affect their faith and their lives in an environment that is constantly threatened by thugs, rapists, assassins and mischievous politicians.”

He added that “those who have been faithful in their devotion during this Ramadan will come with clear conscience to sort out the evil from the good when they take a critical decision on August 9 whether or not criminals should capture power in Osun, or Allah’s grace that rained on the State since November 2010 should continue.”
