The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim has charged the new Corps Marshal and Chief Executive of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Boboye Oyeyemi to strive towards surpassing the present momentum which has earned the FRSC the status of a global brand of a model of a lead on road safety management.
Speaking after the formal decoration of the newly appointed Corps Marshal, Senator Anyim disclosed that the appointment was a fall-out from the quest for excellence and competence by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan who was disposed to continuity and stability in the running of the affairs of the FRSC.
“Let me also emphasis that the opportunity you have today must sincerely be credited to Mr. President, who demanded that the best capable persons for the job should be the person to have the job and that the hunt for the replacement of the outgoing Corps Marshal focused within and you clearly stood out”.
Still referring to the Presidential directive, Senator Anyim also said “The best for the job should have the job because no matter where you come from, it does not matter who he knows, it does not matter who his relations are and I want to say that Nigerians should begin to appreciate what the transformation agenda is all about”.
He further expressed his pleasure to witness where the Corps Marshal of the FRSC is selected through the process where nobody complained about, adding that the process focused on dedication, commitment, hard work and indeed merit.
According to him, “At times when people leave positions, it appears there must be a new beginning. I want to say that building an institution emphasizes on continuity, if we must build an institution that must endure beyond us, it means we must not see our position as a private estate, we must continue from where we joined and build from what we meet”.
Commending the immediate past FRSC Corps Marshal, Osita Chidoka who has been appointed Minister of Aviation, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation added “the outgoing Corps Marshal has internationalized the FRSC.
