The Manchester City forward said yesterday that he feels he is destined to score the goals that will rub salt to the injury of the Nigerian side, who are yet to win a match at the World Cup in 16 years.

Speaking to reporters in Brazil, Dzeko said that “I feel that it is my destiny to score the goals that will propel us to victory over Nigeria. And I believe that with the kind of spirit in camp now that our ambition to reach the seconr round will be assured once we defeat Nigeria”.

He however anticipates a tough duel from the African champions, who know that a loss tonight will compund their woes in the tournament, given that their last match is against table-topping Argentina on June 25.

“This is the kind of match that will be very tough because of the realities that are on ground for both teams. But I think the winner will be the team that show the greater desire to succeed< which I think we have”, said Dzeko, whose team will fancy their chances of beating Iran in their final group match on June 25.

Džeko ended the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualification campaign as second-top scorer in the UEFA section with ten goals as Bosnia-Herzegovina qualified for the first major tournament in its history.
