The much anticipated Nollywood blockbuster ‘Knocking On Heaven’s Door’ premiered recently in Lagos at the Silverbird Galleria, Victoria Island. The glitteratti came out to support the movie which critics have been raving is one of the best movies to be produced by Emem Isong so far.
The movie was co-produced by Ini Edo-Ehiagwina who also starred in the movie. Actors Majid Michel, Blossom Chukwujekwu, Adesuwa Etomi were part of the movie cast. Blossom Chukwujekwu played a lead role in the movie, his portrayal as Moses the emotionally damaged husband to Debbie (Adesua Etomi) was both chilling & brilliant. “It was a wonderful experience, I had beautiful people to work with and it was great working with them”. Blossom enthused.
Beautiful actresss, Adesua Etomi was a breath of fresh air; fragile, sweet, and with an angelic voice, she raised the bar for the new and upcoming actresses in the industry. She expressed joy for the opportunity to star in the movie, “I don’t know how to explain the way I feel. I’m overjoyed. I feel very blessed. It was challenging for me on set because I played a character going through something I’ve not gone through before. I had to bring a lot of emotions to play. Having to find the character from deep within me was the most challenging part. It took a lot, but I had a lot of support from the director and co- actors. All that made my job a bit easier”.
The more experienced actors, Majid Michel and Ini Edo were brilliant in the movie, adding their years of experience and talent to an already brilliant script/story. The movie was directed by Desmond Elliot, who has proven critics & naysayers wrong by refusing to listen to their ramblings and just concentrate on getting better.
The movie is on the important subject of domestic violence in the home, which seems to have escalated in recent times and the producers hope to bring more light to this troubling trend, coating it in the medium of music and song. Produced by Achievas Entertainment, the movie continues to screen in cinemas nationwide.
Stars who graced the movie premier include Alex Ekubo, Omoni Oboli, Uche Jombo, Danielle Okeke, Thelma Okhaz, Belinda Effah amongst others.
