The Lagos State Government has said it would soon register professional sureties to check the activities of touts abusing the bail bond system.

Mr Ade Ipaye, Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, made this known at a stakeholders’ summit on the creation of bondspersons Thursday in Lagos.

A bondsperson is an individual or corporate body who has been licensed by a chief judge to stand as surety for a defendant under a legal bond.
