Jonathan’ll not succumb to blackmail, Ekpebide tells critics

The Chairman, Phase II Presidential Amnesty programme in Delta State, Mr. Preye Ekpebide, has described as futile, attempts by critics of President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration to take advantage of the current insurgency in the North-East to blackmail him into abdicating his authority.

Ekpebide, who fielded questions from journalists in Bomadi, Delta State, yesterday, maintained that no amount of intimidation, libel from any group could coax President Jonathan to relinquish power or stop him from vying for a second term.

The ex-militant leader particularly faulted Chief Bisi Akande, National Chairman, All Progressives Congress, APC,  for describing Nigeria as being on autopilot, noting that, Mr. President was doing his best to ensure that Boko Haram insurgency was brought under control.
