I didn’t stockpile arms, says Amusan

ABEOKUTA—A governorship aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ogun State, Kayode Amusan, yesterday, denied stockpiling 20 AK 47 guns, among others in his campaign office in Abeokuta.

He described the allegation of gun running against him as politically motivated by political opponents.

The two-term member of House of Representatives from Odeda/Abeokuta North/Obafemi-Owode Federal Constituency spoke at a briefing in Abeokuta.

He said he was forced to employ a security guard from the state vigilante service, who had a dane gun to guard the property therein following the alleged pulling down of the perimeter fencing by the agents of state government.

Amusan explained that the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, who sealed his campaign office did not see any AK 47 gun there, saying only one dane gun belonging to the security guard was found in the office.

Speaking on the controversy over the ownership of the building, which originally belonged to the Federal sold to one Ewulo Felix, who in turn reportedly sold it to him, Amusan claimed he was the rightful owner of the building, and that he purchased it with N30 million before the EFCC accused the seller of the building of fraud and then sealed off his campaign office.
