BENIN—THE Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Edo State has alleged that the sum of N520 million was being deducted from the state’s federal allocation to service loans borrowed by the state government since September, 2011.

Edo State chairman of the party, Chief Dan Orbih, disclosed this at a rally to welcome defectors from the ll Progressives Congress, APC, to the party in Fugar, headquarters of Etsako Central Local Government Area of the state.

Reacting, Publicity Secretary of the state chapter of APC, Mr. Godwin Erhahon, said the PDP was speaking on a topic they know nothing about, challenging the Federal Government to speak on the debt profile of Edo State.

Efforts to have Special Adviser, Media, to the Governor, Prince Kassim Afegbua, and the Commissioner for Information, Mr. Louis Odion, to react to the allegation proved abortive as the duo could not be reached.
