THE20 standing committees yesterday rushed to end their deliberations and preparation of reports for deliberation next Monday when delegates would reconvene at plenary sessions to discuss the reports.
While some committees rounded off their jobs before yesterday, some were able to put their reports together yesterday, with plans to discuss the recommendations today. Committee on Political Parties and Electoral Matters which has former Senate Presidents Iyorchia Ayu and Ken Nnamani as co- chairmen could not finish the line by line reading as members will reconvene for that today.
At press time yesterday, the Religion Committee was yet to finish.
Committees that have completed their assignments included Public Service; Land Tenure and National Boundaries; Economy, Trade and Investment; Energy; Immigration and Related Matters, among others.
The National Secretariat in its extended time frame for the conference, had given yesterday for committees to conclude their work. The Secretariat is expected to receive reports from Monday when plenary on the deliberations of the reports will begin.
