Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, Kaduna United were on Sunday evening thrown into mourning as they have lost their chief coach, Saleh Lato.It was gathered that the experienced gaffer died at the Ibrahim Sanni Abacha hospital, Kaduna, after just a day of illness.

Lato will always by remembered by Kaduna United fans as he was part of the technical crew that won the 2010 Federation Cup, beating Enyimba 3-2.

Confirming the tragic news to Supersport.com, club captain, Emmanuel Ambrose revealed that the demise of the deceased came as a great shock.

“I can confirm to you that we have lost our coach (Lato) and all the players can’t believe that he’s dead.

“He only complained of malaria in the morning, and the next thing we would hear later in the evening was that our coach is dead just like that.

“This is a great tragedy for our team”
