AKURE—AHEAD of  Saturday’s by-election in the Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency of Ondo state, the candidate of the Labour Party, LP, for the election, Kolade Akinjo, yesterday challenged the candidates of other political parties in the contest to a public debate over the development of the riverrine community.

Akinjo who is a former aide to former President Olusegun Obasanjo said the Labour Party had everything required to win election in the area, declaring that he was confident that the people would vote for him to win the election.
Akinjo said “there was the need for people aspiring to such posts to be able to face the electorate to elaborate on what they had done for the development of the people and the entire community.”

While speaking with newsmen Akinjo said there was need for candidates to be able to identify the problems of the people they are aspiring to represent.
