WARRI — NEWLY-elected President of National Association of Itsekiri Graduates, NAIG, Mrs Alero Tenumah, has promised that her leadership will not tolerate the sale of job slots meant for Itsekiri graduates to non-Itsekiri, noting that the issue of unemployment among Itsekiri youths will be tackled headlong by her administration.
Tenumah, who spoke in Warri after the inauguration of the new executive to run the affairs of the body for the next two years, said her leadership will work to ascertain the actual number of unemployed Itsekiri graduates.
She also felicitated with the Olu of Warri on the celebration of the monarch’s 27th coronation anniversary, noting that NAIG was not factionalised
Earlier, Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Mr. Festus Etuwewe, described the election conducted April 19 as free and fair.
He said 93 delegates from across NAIG branches in Warri, Sapele, Koko, Benin, Port Harcourt and other cities participated in the election, while 22 candidates contested for 12 vacant positions.
Those elected include Edema Oritsetimeyin, Vice President; Okpeyeaghan Toju, General Secretary; Kpogho Eyidoyoritse, Treasurer; Okpaghoro Collins, Financial Secretary.
Others are Mene Dennis, PRO; Odobiken Iwere, Assistant Secretary; Eden Prince, Organising Secretary; Ekpoto Thomas, Research Project/Director; Adefemi Toritseju, PRO 2; Mebije Wilfred, PRO 3 and Atse Omagbe, Provost.
