Midwest Bar Forum urges IG, DSS to fish out killers of NBA members in Delta

THE Midwest Bar Forum yesterday described the killing of two members of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) Warri Branch as a calculated attempt to intimidate the Bar and the Bench in the discharge of their duties and called on the Inspector General of Police, the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Zone 5, Benin, and the Delta State Director of the Department of State Security to investigate the matter and fish out the perpetrators.

In a statement signed by the MBF chairman , Chief Fred Orbih (SAN) and Augustine Ajineh, Secretary, the Forum pointed out that prior to the murder, “Horace Emmanuel Eguono Dafiaghor, had reportedly complained previously to the court, colleagues and the police of threats to his life which he had been receiving through phone calls.

“It is instructive to place on record that on the aforementioned date that both counsels were brutally murdered, they were said to be on their way to court in the morning.

Subsequently, information filtered in later in the day that Horace Emmanuel Eguono Dafiaghor and his said junior colleague were shot at close range on their heads and both of them died on the spot. The assailants did not take any valuable item from the deceased colleagues”.
