OWERRI—Imo State House of Assembly has condemned the devastating bomb blast at Nyanya Motor Park, Abuja, which claimed scores of lives and left several others wounded.

The condemnation followed the adoption of a motion sponsored by the member representing Isiala Mbano constituency in the Assembly, Chief Simeon Iwunze.

Iwunze, whose motion was based on urgent national importance, said the act was dastardly and condemnable.
He lamented the spate of senseless killings in the North East geo-political zone and the abduction of secondary school girls in the area.

After chronicling other despicable acts perpetrated by members of Boko Haram Islamic terrorists, Chief Iwunze, however, expressed confidence in the ability of the Federal Government to contain the situation.

Supporting the motion, the ranking member from Ikeduru state constituency, Chief Sam Daddy Anyanwu, called for thorough investigation into the incidents, with a view to bringing the perpetrators and their sponsors to justice.

Contributing also, the representative of Ezinihitte Mbaise state constituency, Dr. Obioma Ekennia, called on the Federal Government to declare total state of emergency in the north eastern states, stressing that this could help restore normalcy and peace in the troubled areas.
