LAGOS—FORMER military President, General Ibrahim Babangida (rtd) will be the chief launcher, while former Lagos State governor,  Alhaji Lateef Jakande  will be  the chief host, Wednesday at the launch of the book titled; “NUJ: A History of Nigeria Press.”

The book is authored by Mr. Jola Ogunlusi, the pioneer secretary of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ.
At a briefing by the author weekend at the Lagos State’s NUJ secretariat, he said the launch would take place at the Oranmiyan Hall of Airport Hotel, Ikeja.

According to Mr Ogunlusi; ”it is essential that the history of any organisation be known, especially by its members. As such ”the 530-page and 20- chapter book is on the formation of NUJ, the Nigeria Guild of Editors NGE, the Newspaper Proprietors Association of Nigeria NPAN, the Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria BON, the Nigeria Press Organisation NPO, the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations, NIPR and the Association of Advertisers Practitioners of Nigeria, AAPN, now AAAN.
