Ekiti 2014: Fayemi’s worries

Adebayo puts on fighting gloves

Governor Kayode Fayemi has expressed worries on the inclination of some politicians to dishonour the state by fomenting trouble ahead of the gubernatorial contest in the state that now has the moniker, Land of Honour.

Fayemi-rally“My greatest worry is that there are elements who would want to turn this election into a referendum about national politics. It is not! This election is about Ekiti people – 2.5 million people who want a government that is progressive; that is accountable; that is transparent and can deliver the goods to them – provide jobs for the jobless, healthcare for its people, feed the hungry and improve the infrastructure.”

Fayemi further posited that the plan to take over Ekiti in the coming elections will equally mean the take of the South west by the PDP.

“I see a lot of exaggerated clamour for entering into the South-west – that we need a vehicle to break into the South-west in order to break the control that the opposition has – the grip of the opposition on the South-west, and we must take Ekiti and once we take Ekiti, we will take Osun after”, a worried Fayemi asserted.

Adebayo puts on fighting gloves

To many people, Otunba Niyi Adebayo is a gentleman in all ramifications.
Little wonder he refused to seek legal redress when his successor, Mr Ayo Fayose emerged governor of Ekiti state in 2003.

But this time, Adebayo has put on his boxing gloves and is prepared to do battle against anyone who dares him.
During the flag-off of Governor Fayemi’s second term campaign, Adebayo, a lawyer cum politician said though he is a quiet man but “if anyone toys with me, I will fight such a person.”
