Foremost Leasing company in Nigeria, C&I Leasing Plc has added two new vessels to its fleet. The vessels, Masud Defender and Magen Defender are both 25 crew carrier boats, and built in South Africa.
Speaking at the unveiling of the vessels at the Millennium Jetty, Marina Lagos, recently, the Managing Director of C&I Leasing, Mr. Emeka Ndu explained that the vessels will be used to support Shell Nigeria Exploration and Productions Company (SNEPCO) operators in Bonga and EA Fields.
The vessels features 53m 2 cargo deck, suffer style bow load and fire-fighting monitor.
The managing director commended Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Ltd for the support and confidence it has on C&I Leasing, promising to do his best to offer them the best of service.
“We are thankful to Shell for the support and confidence that they have put in us. We will work harder to ensure that we meet their expectations,” he said.
The introduction of the two additional vessels recently which attracted top officials of Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company brings to eight the total number of vessels deployed to support Shell’s operations in Nigeria by C & I Leasing.
Also speaking at the event, Mr. Robert Godwin, Offshore Marine Logistic Lead, Shell Nigeria Exploration & Production Company Ltd restated his company’s willingness to support the Nigeria Content Development initiative (NCD) of the Federal Government.
Said he: “We are very proud to partner with C& I Leasing and I would like to congratulate them on their hard work and accomplishment.”
In her remark, representative of the partner bank of C&I Leasing, Barclay Africa, Mrs. Feyi Olusanya, disclosed that the Export Credit Insurance Corporation of South Africa (ECIC) also contributed to make the project possible.
According to her, the transaction was the first to benefit under the small and medium transactions scheme of the Export Credit Insurance Corporation of South Africa.
