JALINGO — The Commander of Mobile 40 Police Mobile Force, Jalingo, the capital of Taraba State, Chief Superintendent Ahmed Diri, has died in an auto crash.
Diri died Sunday along the Bauchi-Gombe road while returning from Bauchi State to Jalingo with five vehicles in his convoy.

One of police escorts on the convoy who spoke to Vanguard on the condition of anonymity said Diri collected his official vehicle from the driver when the driver wanted to ease himself in the bush.
According to the sources, the deceased took over the vehicle’s key from the driver and asked the escort team to move and leave the driver behind.

He said: “Oga was not happy when the driver went to ease himself in the bush, although the driver left the key on ignition. Oga came out from the passenger’s side and started the vehicle and asked  the convoy to move on.
“In the process he rammed his vehicle into the pilot car from the rear and died instantly.
The Police Public Relations Officer,  Taraba State Police Command, Joseph Kwaji  confirmed  the incident.
