AN aide to Senator Domingo Obende, representing Edo North in the National Assembly, Mr. Dominic Ifidon, allegedly sacked for working for another senatorial aspirant, Professor Julius Ihonvbere, has denied abandoning his job.

Senator Obende said he did not sack Mr Ifidon, but that the former aide abandoned his job for over six weeks.
His words: “I do not understand how this will be a story for the newspapers if at all it happened. The young man abandoned his job for the past six weeks and I do not know if this will now be treated with sentiment. I am sure he wants people to be sympathetic to his deliberate action that encourages laziness and lies all in the name of politics. For me, I wish him well.”

It was gathered that Senator Obende sacked Ifidon for allegedly spying for Professor Ihonvbere.
Speaking on his alleged abandonment of his job, Ifidoh said; “we were the closest in the senatorial district. I worked for him with all my heart and he knows that. I was never disloyal to him. I did not abandon my job. Some people told him that I was working against him and that I was working for  Ihonvbere. I have not even spoken with Prof since December. He sent me the text message on February 4, 2014. He did not even bother to verify the truth of the allegation.   I was the oldest staff with him. I worked for with him for three years.”
