UMUAHIA — ABIA State governor, Chief Theodore Orji, has dismissed insinuations that President Goodluck Jonathan was marginalising Ndigbo, saying those who harboured such views were enemies of the Igbo.

The governor noted that of the all the presidents who had ruled the country in recent past, none had touched the lives of the people of the South East as President Jonathan.

Orji, who was, last week, elected new chairman of South East Governors’ Forum, noted that the zone had benefited immensely from the present administration.

“For a zone that has been marginalised, will the President lay the foundation stone for another bridge when there is an existing one, set the money aside and also set a deadline for the delivery of the project; no we have never had it so good, my people,” Orji said.

According to him, the second Niger Bridge is very important because the old one is becoming weak and overused.

The new bridge, the governor explained, would help to reduce the stress the people from both the zone and parts of South-South go through during festive periods.

He also enumerated other projects Jonathan’s administration had done for Ndigbo to include the reconstruction of Enugu-Onitsha express way, Onitsha-Owerri Road,
