ABEOKUTA— No fewer than 20 armed men allegedly  invaded  Kajola Estate and Alarugbo communities area of Bode Olude in Odeda Local Government Area of Ogun State, sacking the residents.

The hoodlums were reportedly  welding  dangerous weapons, shooting sporadically, tormenting passersby, snatching handbags and other valuables.

Narrating how the gunmen invaded the community, the Chairman of the community, Amos Ojekalu, said  yesterday that the residents  were thrown into panic and confusion.

The residents, through a petition signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the Community, Elder Amos Ojekalu and Abiodun Taiwo, respectively, said: “A professional land grabber from Adalemo Sango was hired to unleash mayhem on the area.

“Some of the armed men were seen loitering around, while building sites were being destroyed. The thugs said they only came to paste a court order at the two communities, but while doing it, they were destroying property, sacking people from their homes and worship centers.”

The petition was also sent to the Commissioner of Police, the Department of State Services, Ogun State House of Assembly and Public Complaint Commission.
