Ekiti guber:  PDP  postpones  primary  election by  one week

ABUJA—NATIONAL leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, yesterday, shifted by one week, its earlier scheduled primary election to get its standard bearer for the June 21, 2014, Ekiti  State gubernatorial election.

In a statement by the PDP National  Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh, the party also  postponed by one week, the ward congresses for the governorship primary in Ekiti State earlier slated for today.
Metuh said: “This is to allow party members  participate in the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.”

Meanwhile,  Vanguard gathered yesterday that  Senator Bode Olowoporoku who was on Monday disqualified by the Screening Committee headed by Senate leader, Senator Victor Ndoma- Egba was further asked to forget his gubernatorial ambition as he was not cleared by the Senator Mohammed Magoro-led Appeal Committee, just as Obafemi Peter who was earlier disqualified was yesterday cleared by the Committee to join others.
