No dispute between Edo, Delta over boundary, says Orogho Dukedom Chair

BY Onozure Dania

The Chairman, Orogho Dukedom Communities Development Association, Mr Efe Agbonson, has said that there was no iota of truth in the allegation by one Chief  Joseph Ukueku, that there was a dispute between Edo  and Delta states, over boundary issues.

It will be recalled that Chief Ukueku had claimed that there was a renewed tension between Overe Eku community in Agbon Kindom, Ethiope East Local Government area of Delta State and Orogho Community in Orhionwon Local Government Area of Edo State, over boundary dispute.

He had stated that the  Enogie of Orogho, Agbonson, in a letter, dated September 20, 2013 wanted to introduce the Bini tradition to his people.
But Agbonson in a statement, yesterday,   said that the dispute referred to by Ukueku over an area where a petroleum company, NewCross Petroleum Company Limited, was exploring oil, was untrue.
He called on relevant authorities, to call Ukueku of Eku and his sponsors, to order to refrain from further provocation.
