LAGOS—Justice Kudirat Jose of an Ikeja High Court yesterday fixed March 31 to rule on the bail application filed by Lagos lawyer and socialite, Fred Ajudua, charged over alleged defrauding of two Dutch businessmen of $1.69 million.

Ajudua was arraigned alongside Charles Orie by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. Already, Ajudua’s co-accused, Orie is already granted bail by the court.
Arguing his bail, his lawyer, Chief Charles Edosomwan, SAN, submitted that there was no proof before the court that his client had interfered with any witness.

The counsel argued further that there was an overwhelming medical evidence that Ajudua was suffering from a life-threatening ailment which needed proper treatment.
He added that Ajudua was ready to face trial contrary to the claim being made by the EFCC that he may not wait to answer his charges.
