WARRI — A Delta State High Court sitting in Otor-Udu, has ordered the state police command to release three members of Delta State Commercial Motor Cycle and Tricycle Union of Nigeria, DSCMTUN, detained over their alleged role in a recent lynching of a tricycle driver in Effurun.

The three applicants, Hope Umukoro, Vincent Edun and Ben Ukuyade, had challenged their continued detention on the alleged order of the state Police Commissioner.

Ruling on the application, trial judge, Justice F. Azinge, said having heard Dr. D. Orji, counsel for all three applicants, “it is hereby ordered that they be released from the custody of the respondent (Police) forthwith.”
