Climate change: Stakeholders raise alarm


LAGOS—STakeholders have  observed that people and buildings along Lagos coast will be more adversely affected by effect of climate change in the future, hence, the need to adapt to the impacts of climate.

This was part of the communiqué issued yesterday, at the end of the three-day 6th Lagos State Climate Change Summit, organised by the state Ministry of the Environment, with the theme: ‘Exploring Business Opportunities in Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation: Lagos State in Focus.’

The stakeholders in their observations stated: “Cities with high concentrations of people and buildings, particularly those along the coast, including Lagos, will be more adversely affected by climate change in the future.”
