OVER 400 ABC Transport drivers and attendants recently participated in a productivity and safety enhancement workshop in Calabar, Owerri, Lagos and Ewekoro (Ogun State). The month-long training, which began in February and ended last week, was to bolster the driving crew ahead of the challenges arising from the ongoing expansions in ABC Hauls following the acquisition of 80 Shacman heavy-duty trucks and in ABC Cargo Express which is set to take delivery of additional 13 new trucks in a few weeks’ time.

The Training embraced key areas such as defensive driving, with emphasis on build-up areas, accident prevention, psychology of drivers and other road users, managing drivers for effective performance, effective crew welfare management, re-appraising drivers’ performance on the job, and root cause analysis involving accidents, among others.

Other trainings have been scheduled for operations and cargo frontline staff as well as customer service staff of ABC Transport, which will cover issues common with running an efficient cargo operations, customer service delivery, managing service failures ad aggrieved customers, and the nexus between staff attitude and customer relationship.

Meanwhile, ABC Transport has introduced Sprinter Service on the Lekki (Lagos) – Owerri and Port Harcourt routes. Essentially designed for passengers who like to travel light, with little or no luggage, ABC Sprinter will run as a direct, daily passenger service from Lekki to Owerri and Port Harcourt. The service, is billed to kick off on Wednesday.

ABC Sprinter parades compatible midi buses, which are fully air-conditioned, roomy, and comfortable. This midi intercity service is designed to provide light travellers with enough legroom and comfort on long distance trips, as well as on-board refreshments.
