THE National Information Technology Development Agency, NITDA has graduated a total of 120 youths in Business Process Outsourcing, BPO.

Speaking at the certification ceremony in Abuja, at the weekend, Acting Director General of the agency, Ashiru Daura said the youths were trained on business processing outsourcing in line with NITDA’s mandate to impact knowledge on the people.

He said that impacting knowledge is the most important asset that could be given to someone in his life time, assuring that the knowledge would make great difference in the lives of the beneficiaries.

“We need to develop the skills and capacities of young Nigerians. The most important thing you can give people is that knowledge which they can use to get job, live a very purposeful life,” he said.

The beneficiaries were trained in different courses including: Certified Customer Care Professional, CCCP; Certified Financial Service Professional, CFSP; Certified Back-Office Operations Professional, CBOP; Certified Human Resource Executive, CHRE; and Certified Business Development Executive, CBDE.

The Chief Executive Officer of the academy, Mr Obiora Mmadu assured on the quality of training given to the youths.

According to NITDA, the participants in the training were drawn from the various states of the federation based on merit, with each state having minimum of three candidates except the states that has only two candidates applying.

At the end of the ceremony, the trainees received a laptop each.

One of the beneficiaries, Mr. Nuredeen Mahe expressed gratitude to NITDA for the gesture and described it as a manifestation of President Goodluck Jonathan’s transformation agenda.

Earlier in his opening remarks,  Daura, had said the training was organised to equip the youth with the capacity to enhance their capability in the burgeoning outsourcing industry.
