Senator Rashidi Ladoja

IBADAN—The strained relationship between the All Progressives Congress, APC, led government in Oyo State and the former Governor of the state, Senator Rashidi Ladoja worsened, weekend, as the ruling party said it had been vindicated by the judgment of the Appeal Court which ruled that Ladoja had a case to answer in the N4.7 billion fraud case.
The suit was instituted against the ex-governor by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFFC.
The Appeal Court, through Justice Sidi Bage, had, on Friday, ruled that Ladoja had a case to answer in the charges of money laundering preferred against him.
In a statement by its Interim Publicity Secretary, Mr. Dauda Kolawole, the APC said the Accord Party boss should ask for forgiveness from the people of the state whose common wealth he allegedly siphoned while he was governor.
He said: “The most pitiable part of the whole thing is that this same man stands on the campaign podium to hoodwink gullible people who do not know details of the fraud allegations preferred against him.”
