To ensure affordability in fertility treatment, St Ives hospital has discounted its In Vitro Fertilisation, IVF treatment by half.   The discount exercise is done in collaboration with Ives Medicare Foundation, a managed care organisation, which provides pre-paid healthcare services and enhances access to efficient and high quality health services by individuals, groups and families.

The exercise which is being run at its Ikoyi, Lagos, branch is not the first time the IVF and Fertility centre would be slashing its price by half, the Chief Medical Director, Dr. Babatunde Okewale, adduced the reason to the high cost of IVF tests and treatments all over the world.  “We have identified cost as a major factor militating against stemming the incidence of infertility in Nigeria.

Though cases of infertility appear to be abating, a high number of couples are still being challenged. Over the years, we have seen a steady though slow success rates in the crusade against infertility in Nigeria, courtesy of half-the-cost discount. We have further been strengthened in our resolve to continuously make IVF accessible and relatively affordable to couples.”   Aside this, Okewale said that the discount holiday which runs till March 10th, is in celebration of Easter and Mother’s Day.
